About You

Are you a student or a recent graduate in Computer Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or Administration fields and are looking to have a taste of practical experience in the workplace setting?  If you are available for 4 months (preferably starting mid-April to early May) and eligible to work in Canada, this opportunity may be for you.

The Role

We are currently looking for an Administrative Support Assistant to perform various entry-level IT administration and data entry tasks.  Under the supervision of a more senior team member and following documented procedures, you will perform the following tasks:

IT Administration
• Setting up computer hardware and software for new team members or to replace existing machines
• Configuring mobile devices on Prism’s plan
• Providing staff with access to Prism’s systems
• Coordinating with our external providers on computer, system access, IP telephony and mobile phone issues

Data Entry
• Updating various databases (mostly using Microsoft Access; with a possibility of joining a senior member for data gathering in our clients’ sites within BC)

Qualifications and Experience

The following qualifications, experience and competences are considered major assets:
 Post-secondary level of education in a relevant field (Computer Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, General Administration as examples)
 Basic database and spreadsheet skills (Microsoft Access experience a plus)
 Communication skills and attention to detail

This is a limited contract position of 4 months, paid on hourly basic rate of $18, with flexibility on weekly hours from 24 to 40 hours per week.  Tell us how your qualifications and experience translates to this position.
